Flotators are one of the most efficient systems for the continuous removal of oil and suspended solids from water, when elevated flow rates are involved and high separation performances are required.
Tecniplant is specialized in the design, engineering and construction of Impeller and Injector Flotators for oil-liquid separation (IAF, IGF, IDF, EDF).

They can be supplied as package units complete with instrumentation, ancillaries and automation, easy to install and to operate.

The flotator’s main characteristic is the short retention time, thanks to the high turbulence in each of the four cells. The turbulence is generated by specially designed Tecniplant Impellers and Injectors.

Tecniplant systems auto induce gas/air suction avoiding the need for any external pressurization equipment. Depending on the specifications and the process needs, the systems are supplied with atmospheric or pressure design (ASME, PED, U-Stamp).

The outlet oil content can hence be reduced up to 95% of the inlet value with the addition of calibrated quantities of polyelectrolyte.
